The National Pharmacy Association is pleased to announce today the election of Philip Galt as the new NPA board member for Scotland.
Phil is Managing Director and Superintendent Pharmacist of Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy, which operates 30 pharmacies across Central Scotland, Fife and the Scottish Borders. He is also chair of Community Pharmacy Lothian.
Commenting on his election, Phil said:
“I passionately believe in the contribution that community pharmacy can make. We can improve health outcomes for patients whilst delivering real value to the wider health economy.
“Scotland is a good news story for community pharmacy and we’ve seen many positive developments in pharmacy practice across the network here. But even in Scotland we share many of the same challenges that pharmacies face across the UK – a tight public purse, ever increasing demand for health care, volatile supply and the uncertainties of Brexit and FMD.
“I’m really looking forward to using my experience and enthusiasm to help the NPA deliver for members.”
NPA chair, Nitin Sodha, said:
“We are delighted to have Phil join the Board. He is a substantial figure, with years of experience to call upon and a real commitment to community pharmacy. He likes to work collaboratively with stakeholders across health and social care, which I think reflects the approach the NPA is taking throughout the UK.”
Phil replaces Noel Wicks, who left the board a month ago due to family and business commitments.
